Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Registration: Register your freight brokerage business with the FMCSA, which is responsible for regulating interstate transportation in the United States. New guidelines also require dispatch companies with “allocation” to file for this authority as well. This process involves obtaining a Motor Carrier (MC) number and a Freight Broker Authority (also known as a Broker MC number).

  1. Application and Fees: We will complete the FMCSA's online application, known as the OP-1 Form. You will need to provide us information about your business, ownership, and financial responsibility.

  2. BOC-3 Filing: We will file a BOC-3 form, which designates a process agent in each state where you plan to operate. This agent will receive legal documents on your behalf. There are service providers who can assist with this filing.

  3. Surety Bond: We will provide you with a list of recommended providers to complete the $75,000 bonding requirement for you to operate legally.
